Arne Dormaels (i4S), Patrice De Mets (local police Geraardsbergen), Tom Broekaert (Federal Judicial Police), Luc Cap (Federal Judicial Police East Flanders) and Isabel Verwee (Vias institute) brought together various expertise on Criminal Investigation in the Future in a series of 'Food for thought' sessions organised by the Centre for Policing and Security (CPS) in the framework of the two-year project ‘States-General for the Belgian Police #SEGPOL’. On 17 June, they organised the roundtable ‘Food for thought: Criminal Investigation in the year 2030’ at which Eric Vandeputte, Carolien Vander Linden, Jacky Babeliowsky, Ronny Decuyper, Hannelore Bogaert, Donate DHauwer, Elmira Zeynalyan and Karolien De Turck moderated workshop sessions. The results will be compiled in a publication and a vision document on the future of the police, including policy recommendations.
